Gary M. Bishop

Gary Bishop began his career in 1971 with The American Road Insurance Company, a subsidiary of Ford Motor Credit Company, where he was introduced to finance and insurance services. In 1982, he joined American Mercury Insurance Company and led the expansion of its distribution network of independent agents for the company’s mechanical breakdown division as National Sales Manager. He was quickly promoted, and eventually became Vice President and General Manager of the corporation’s warranty administration company.

In 1995, Gary joined Old Republic and within a year was named Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Old Republic Insured Automotive Services, Inc. (ORIAS). In 2002, he was elevated to President of ORIAS and certain affiliate companies engaged in the automobile warranty business. During his tenure at Old Republic, Gary has been instrumental in the development of the Company’s largest business segments, established relationships with various national accounts and automobile dealer groups, and overseen the corporate re-structuring of Old Republic’s American and Canadian warranty operations. In addition to his day-to-day responsibilities in the United States, he serves as President of DISCC Enterprises, Ltd., located in Vancouver, British Columbia, which provides automobile warranty products to dealers in western Canada.
